This week, I decided to show off a project I have actually been working on for quite a while but just recently completed.

What did you choose to do?

My parents live outside of Fresno, California, in the Central Valley. Our house is on about 4 acres of land, so my dad always decorates the yard with Christmas lights and decorations. Last summer, I decided to paint some life-size characters from different Christmas movies to add to the display: the Abominable Snowman, Yukon Cornelius, and Hermey from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Heat Miser and Snow Miser from The…

This week, I used the information gathered from last week as well as my own knowledge from the class and prior experiences to create a website! Even though I’m only a 1st year, I think having knowledge about and experience with creating a website to represent myself and my career will be really beneficial in the long run.

Here is the link:

Spending some time this week researching information important to my desired career was actually quite interesting and fun. It helped me to learn more about my options as I plan to move forward in life, as well as get a sort of gameplan for next week’s website assignment.

Research 3 or more companies or clients who might hire you either as a full-time employee, or as a consultant, or who might give you a summer internship. In your Medium post, list each company or client. …

This week, I made a new friend: Julianna Pelayo. Here is the link to the padlet I made after getting to know her for the last week:

How well did you know your partner before this activity?

I didn’t know Julianna at all before this activity! The only thing I knew about her was what I could see on the roster.

How well do you know them now?

After chatting for the last week, I feel like I do know her a bit better. We talked about the typical topics that people trying to get to know one another talk…

This week, I made some changes and improvements to my Student Choice project from Weeks 8–10. Since I didn’t have another vinyl record on hand, I simply added on to the first one to make it better.

What do you think the strengths of your 1st were?

I think my first edition was strong because of the bright colors I used. I think the colors all fit well together and brought the piece together as a whole. I think my project achieved the goal I initially wanted to achieve, which was just to paint a scene that gave off free…

From Left to Right: Sarah’s, Savannah’s, and Rita’s Projects

I had so much fun completing this project this week! Having an excuse to take time out of my day to paint was absolutely awesome, and I’m very happy and proud of this project. I’m actually going to be putting it on the wall in my dorm because I love it that much!

What was your original vision?

My original vision was to paint on a vinyl record with acrylics. I planned to paint a wave with a sun setting in the background surrounded by multicolored rays. I wanted to use a mix of warm and bright oranges, yellows, and…
